At an interview with Commercial Radio on 11 April, Denise was asked about the performance of other singers and said that she had to be careful when answering these questions in case people get offended. Her comment on Ron Ng was that for an actor, his performance was commendable, but there is room for improvement especially when it comes to singing live. She thinks that he was probably nervous and it affected his performance. She agrees that TV artists should learn basic singing techniques so that they will be able to take on different kinds of work.
Denise herself has started learning about music composition. In case she can no longer be a singer in the future, she wants something to fall back on, since she doesn¡¦t want to become an insurance agent due to her lack of eloquence. She has realised that in the music industry, it is often not good enough to just concentrate on making good music and that one needs to take into account many other factors. She admits that she is a little tired of its ¡¥games and rules¡¦, but denies that she is contemplating retiring from the scene. In future, she still wants to stay in the music industry so she is looking for music-related courses to strengthen her bid to become a respected music composer.
Her first behind-the-scene job will be to write and produce a song for her good friend Bobo Chan. She said that Bobo¡¦s singing has improved as compared to previously, but it is quite stressful being producer for other singers as she has to consider whether the song is suitable for that person, and not just whether she likes it or not.
Denise and Louis Koo will be the new ambassadors for Pepsi after Sammi and F4.
