Because of Denise, I'm getting to learn guitar after my CE exams..
She's so cool...
Yesterday I went to see some guitars and I don't know which one suits me.
For a beginner, how much should I spend on a guitar?
For a beginner, I think it's ok to start with a cheaper guitar. Maybe abt S$200 or so? That will be around HKD1000. But I'm not sure abt the prices in HK. Of course if you have the money to spare, you can get one a bit more expensive.
The best is if you have a friend who knows something about guitars to go with you to choose one. Or you could just enquire at various shops. Some shop pple are very nice and will give you some useful info.
Good luck!

my first classical guitar is S$100
current acoustic worth 200plus...
planning to buy a black guitar @ yamaha...
good luck to u!
support you to start playing guitar ar!
umm...i suggest u should buy acoustic guitar.
i also think around HK$1000 is okay , why dont u ask the salesman to give you suggestions? i think they are so nice to help !
my guitar is just around $700, it's chinese brand coz i was studying in Mainland . that time i can only play little guitar so i ask the salesman to choose for me.
very glad that the salesman didn't cheat me and many friends say my guitar sounds very good !

For beginner acoustic guitar, I just have to recommend Yamaha F310
http://www.yamaha.ca/content/guitar/produc...keyfeatures.jsp (http://www.yamaha.ca/content/guitar/products/acousticguitars/F310/keyfeatures.jsp)
This is absolutely awesome!! My guitar teacher praises it even~ The sound quality is really good...
I tried looking it up in Tom Lee HK web site but it loads too slow for me... It shouldn't be too expensive... maybe over HK$1000... Depends on your budget la~
Good luck and have fun~ ;)

I also bought a Yamaha F310 as my first guitar. It's really good and the price is very reasonable for a beginner.
Good luck and have fun playing the guitar!

Anyone heard of the brand "Northland"? from Tomleemusic... people said it's made from the same factories as Yamaha... just the brand name difference, others are mostly the same...
